Introduction Video Overview #

Installation #

The app can be installed through Microsoft AppSource.
Please make sure you have the required permissions before starting the installation.

License Key #

After completing the installation through AppSource, you will receive a license key via email. The email will be sent to the email address you used while installing the app. If you haven’t received your free trial key, please contact support@al-go.dev and we will send you a key within one business day.

Configuration / Setup Wizard #

To configure the app, please open the ‘Sales and Relationship Manager‘ role center in Business Central. Click on the ‘Setup Wizard‘ in the ‘MailChimp‘ section on the role center.

  • Step 1: License Key
    Please enter your license key.
  • Step 2: MailChimp details
    Please enter the data center in which your MailChimp subscription is hosted and your API key.
    You can find the data center in the dashboard URL. For example, ‘https://us6.admin.mailchimp.com‘ means you are hosted in data center ‘us6‘. Your API key is located under the ‘Account‘ section of the MailChimp dashboard.
  • Step 3: Finish!
    If the ‘Connection Status‘ is green and connected, your setup is completed and you can click ‘Finish‘.

Segments #

Importing audiences from MailChimp #

To import existing audiences, including contacts/subscribers, from MailChimp, navigate to the ‘Segments‘ list and click on the ‘MailChimp Import‘ action in the ‘MailChimp‘ category.

Sending segments to MailChimp #

To send existing or new segments to MailChimp, prepare a segment in Business Central. Navigate to the ‘Segment List‘ or a specific ‘Segment Card‘. Make sure ‘Enabled‘ is set to yes in the ‘MailChimp‘ group.

After setting the other values in the ‘MailChimp‘ group, click on the ‘Send to MailChimp‘ action. The segment and all lines/contacts will now be sent to MailChimp. If the action is successful, ‘Synchronized to MailChimp‘ will be set to yes.

Removing segments from MailChimp #

To remove a synchronized segment from MailChimp, navigate to the ‘Segment List‘ or a specific ‘Segment Card‘ and click on the ‘Remove from MailChimp‘ action. The segment(s) will now be removed from MailChimp.

Campaigns #

Importing campaigns from MailChimp #

To import existing campaigns from MailChimp, navigate to the ‘Campaigns‘ list and click on the ‘MailChimp Import‘ action in the ‘MailChimp‘ category.

Sending campaigns to MailChimp #

To send existing or new campaigns to MailChimp, prepare a campaign in Business Central. Navigate to the ‘Campaign List‘ or a specific ‘Campaign Card‘. Make sure ‘Enabled‘ is set to yes in the ‘MailChimp‘ group.

After setting the other values in the ‘MailChimp‘ groups, click on the ‘Send to MailChimp‘ action. The campaign will now be sent to MailChimp. If the action is successful, ‘Synchronized to MailChimp‘ will be set to yes.

Removing campaigns from MailChimp #

To remove a synchronized segment from MailChimp, navigate to the ‘Campaign List‘ or a specific ‘Campaign Card‘ and click on the ‘Remove from MailChimp‘ action. The campaign(s) will now be removed from MailChimp.

Updating campaign statistics #

To update campaign statistics from MailChimp, navigate to the ‘Campaign List‘ or a specific ‘Campaign Card‘ and click on the ‘MailChimp Import‘ action in the ‘MailChimp‘ category. This will import all available statistics on the campaing(s). Including every subscriber who has opened the sent emails and total numbers in the factbox.
